Democrats aren't lying. McCain is a moron.

The conservative media have been up in arms about the assertion by Obama and Clinton that McCaion said he wanted to fight a hundred year war in Iraq. McCain didn't say that, they claim or didn't mean it the way Dems are suggesting. He qualified his remarks, saying that U.S troops have been in Germany and Japan for decades. That's the sort of situation he is comfortable with for Iraq. A large American presence, projecting American power so long as no soldiers are being killed or injured. How little does McCain know about the world. Does he really believe that there will ever be a time when the people of Iraq tolerate the presence of U.S. troops on the soil. I appreciate that politicians are obliged to pretend like the army and marines can do no wrong, but privately McCain must understand how much resentment and hatred the occupation has caused. Iraq will obviously never be like Germany or Japan. If America stays in Iraq for a century, it will fighting a hot war for a century. I'm all for staying till the job is done, I just agree with the Democrats that the job is improving the lives and security of Iraqis, not increasing American economic and geo-political interests.

In his 1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his wife, Cindy, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain’s hair and said, “You’re getting a little thin up there.” McCain’s face reddened, and he responded, “At least I don’t plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you cunt.” McCain’s excuse was that it had been a long day. If elected president of the United States, McCain would have many long days.
